There are many great reasons why our students and staff are proud of the University of Lincoln, including our award-winning teaching, excellent graduate prospects, world-class research and close links with industry. The School of Computer Science is a large and growing school, pursuing a blend of fundamental, applied and interdisciplinary research which influences and leads our taught programmes with particular strengths in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, and Human-Computer Interaction.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Senior Computing Technician to work with the Technical Support team within the school, supporting teaching and research across a range of computing-based disciplines while being the technical teams subject expert in machine learning, AI, and robotics. Working with staff to ensure equipment and facilities are appropriate and meet requirements, working with researchers on research software code, and utilising experience and expertise to advise colleagues in the technical team where appropriate. Skills and experience ideally should include programming languages such as Python or C++, and frameworks such as ROS, Tensorflow, or PyTorch.

While the role is primarily focused on its specialist subject, the post holder will also be required to work with colleagues in the team to cover support tasks outside of their specialist subject matter. This can be in the provision of equipment for research, mass-rollout of computing lab configuration, student support, and more. In support of equipment and facilities, additional duties include procurement, health and safety, and documentation.
