Launch of the next season of the AgriFoRwArdS Seminar Series 15/10/21 3pm: Charles Nicklin (CEO of IAgrE)

This Friday, 15/10/2021 at 3 pm (BST), we will be re-launching the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Agri-Food Robotics Seminar Series with a talk by Charles Nicklin on “Agricultural Engineering and the role of the IAgrE“. Speaker Bio

Charlie Nicklin is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers; a role he has held since October 2020. Charlie is a chartered engineering professional with 28 years’ experience in the design, development and manufacture of construction and agricultural equipment. He has a proven track record in delivery of high value machine programs from concept through to volume production. Charlie has spent 24 years of his career in various senior leadership roles for the global manufacturer JCB, including, Chief Engineer for Backhoe Loaders, Chief Engineer for the Fastrac tractor range and Engineering Lead for Loadall agricultural products. Through his previous work, Charlie is a holder of a number of JCB patents and has been pivotal to the inception and launch of a number of highly successful market leading products resulting in various industry awards. Charlie grew up on a farm, commenced his study in Agricultural Engineering at Reaseheath College in Cheshire and holds a Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Harper Adams University in Shropshire. In his spare time Charlie keeps himself busy with family life, as well as renovating their Georgian farmhouse and pursuing his hobby of vintage tractors and competition ploughing.
