It was finally time to revive our tradition of a social away day (in-person) for all members and affiliates of Lincoln’s Centre for Autonomous Systems. Most of our fantastic team (Academics, Researchers, Engineers, Administrators, PhD and MSc students) joined at the Riseholme Conference Centre on Friday 8/10/2021, to enjoy a programme that was a bit “out of the ordinary”, and offered something different than your usual hours of Teams meetings and work days: From scientific spotlights (with the single rule: no PowerPoint allowed) over presentation of useful tools and technologies, to a session called “Beyond 9-5”, with contributions that had nothing to do with work. Here we learned about Koreans’ obsession with instant coffee, home-labbing, and how to make a proper Ragú (not Bolognese sauce).

We had a brilliant day and it was particularly exciting to meet all the new MSc Robotics and Autonomous Systems students, including our latest cohort of students in our EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Agri-Food Robotics.
