L-CAS “Open Lab” for Students and new Student-led Robotics Club
One of the research centres in the School of Computer Science is the “Lincoln Centre for Autonomous Systems“, short: L-CAS.
We do a lot of world-class research in robotics, AI, and computer vision in this centre and would like to offer our undergraduate students an opportunity to engage more with our research, to learn about the different robotic platforms we use, and to identify ways to contribute to our research.
We are running a special 1 hour “Open Lab” event for any interested Lincoln students on
Wednesday, 4/11/2015, 5pm
offering a lab tour, seeing different robots in action, and discussing possible themes and challenges for interested students. This event will take place in our Research Lab in the Witham Wharf building (building number 19 on map below, entrance from the Brayford Street Car Park, click here for Google Maps):
If there is sufficient interest we are planning to help students form a student-led “Robotics Club”, offering the research centre’s equipment and expertise to our students, and providing them with a challenging and rewarding set of tasks to boost their programming and research skills.
So, if you are a Lincoln student who wants to engage more with robotics and AI research, here is your opportunity to come along and see what we are doing and find your place in the academic community at Lincoln.
We only have a limited number of places available (space is limited), so you are required to register for this event (free of charge, of course). Please bring your printed ticket for the event:
