Continuous Integration Engineer

Saga Robotics are currently looking for a new full-time coworker with experience in software integration to fulfill a key role in our growing company. This position offers you the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced agricultural robots in the world in real farming operations at a commercial level. We are looking for ambitious individuals who have a passion for robotics and are eager to help us deliver sustainable agricultural services to farmers.

As our continuous integration engineer, you will be responsible for expanding and maintaining the necessary software infrastructure for our robotic systems. You will also hold a key position in improving our software standards as we expand our commercial operations in the UK, Norway and the US. Our software development team consists of talented and skilled individuals and an important part of your responsibility will be to aid their coordination efforts and maintain excellent standards.

Experience in continuous integration systems for robotics development is desirable but applications from experienced software developers from other fields are welcomed. 

Key requirements:

Candidates should have an MSc or PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area, and meet the technical requirements listed below.

  • Excellent coding skills in both C++ and Python

  • Experienced in test automation for linux systems

  • Hands-on experience with the development of CI systems (Jenkins)

Software Engineer Specialising in Networks

Saga Robotics Ltd, based in Lincoln, UK, are currently looking for a new coworker with experience in software and robotics to further develop our networking capabilities. This role offers you the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced agricultural robots in the world in real farming operations at a commercial level. We are looking for ambitious individuals who have a passion for robotics and are eager to help us deliver sustainable agricultural services to farmers.

This role will involve maintaining and improving the networks and communication infrastructure for our robotic deployments in the UK and Norway. A major part of this will be helping us to improve our monitoring solutions for robots in the field. This includes continued front and back end development as well as secure communications setup. Your work will play a key part in allowing us to safely deploy autonomous robots and troubleshoot from remote locations. 

Key requirements:

Candidates should have an MSc or PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area, and meet the technical requirements listed below. 

  • Excellent coding skills including proficiency in Javascript, as well as C++ or Python

  • Experienced with linux systems

  • Experience in building complex multi-device networks

Robotics deployment Engineer

  • Job title: Robotics deployment Engineer

Saga Robotics are currently hiring several new full-time coworkers to spearhead our new operations team in Kent, UK. This role offers you the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced agricultural robots in the world in real farming operations at a commercial level. We are looking for ambitious individuals who have a passion for robotics and are eager to help us deliver sustainable agricultural services to farmers.

You will be responsible for the deployment of our robotics solutions in multiple farms, and you will oversee the day to day operation of the robots. After an initial training stage to acquaint you  with our systems and procedures, you will be responsible for overseeing our commercial deployment and operations in Kent. Tasks will include initial set-up on farms, operations monitoring and robot maintenance. You will be our main point of contact for farmers throughout the service, and you will also work with our development teams to streamline our deployment process and operational procedures.

Key requirements:

Candidates should have an MSc or BSc in a relevant area, such as robotics, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, mechatronic engineering or computer science. Candidates should also meet the technical requirements listed below. 

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Programming experience

  • Knowledge of Linux-based operating systems

Electronic Design / Embedded systems Engineer

Saga Robotics are looking for engineers in electronic design and embedded systems to join our robot development team.This role offers you the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced agricultural robots in the world in real farming operations at a commercial level. We are looking for ambitious individuals who have a passion for robotics and are eager to help us deliver sustainable agricultural services to farmers.

As a member of our team you will play a key role in the continued development of our robotic systems. While working closely with our mechanical engineers and software development team, you will be responsible for designing robust embedded systems, from prototype, through development and testing, to the finished product. Your work will include integration of sensors and safety systems, improvement of existing core electronics, and development of new systems as we expand our area of operations. Your focus will be on creating robust systems that adheres to relevant standards and are well suited for medium to large scale production.

Key requirements:

Candidates should have an MSc in a relevant area, such as electronic engineering embedded systems development or mechatronics engineering, and meet at least one of the two sets of technical requirements listed below. Candidates satisfying requirements from both sets are highly desirable.

Electronics design:

  • Experience in electronic circuit and PCB design for medium or large-scale manufacturing

  • Experience in developing and executing testing and troubleshooting procedures for PCBs and circuit testing.

  • Experience developing and maintaining BOMs, manufacturing documentation and other project documentation.

  • Proficient in techniques for EMC compliant circuit design

  • Experience with motor control including relevant sensors

  • Hands on attitude to circuit prototyping and practical skills in soldering and circuit rework

  • Experience in circuit simulation

Embedded systems:

  • Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems

  • Experience with Linux-based systems

  • Familiar with common communication standards and protocols, including but not limited to CAN, SPI, UART, RS232.
