Interested in Robots? Electronics? Mechanical engineering? Machine Learning? Computer Science? Automation? All of the above? Well, we are recruiting team members now!
We are the LCASTOR competition team for the international field robot event. We are students and academics developing our skills to make robots perform agricultural tasks autonomously. Join us and help us win, while developing new skills or refining old ones. You don’t need to be a robotics expert, we’ll help you get started.
Robotics Software Developer
Some programming skills in Python and an interest in learning more about robotics software.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn ROS2 and work on how our robot moves, navigates, and responds to its environment.
Robotics Hardware Engineer
An interest in designing, building and 3D printing physical components for robots.
Some experience with CAD software is helpful, but a willingness to learn is more important
Computer Vision and Machine Learning Developer
Some programming experience in Python.
An interest in learning about computer vision, image processing, or machine learning.
Experience with tools such as OpenCV, YOLO, or PyTorch is useful, but not required, we’re happy to help you learn.
We’re Looking For
An interest in robotics, agriculture, and real-world applications.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Enthusiasm for learning new skills and tackling challenging engineering problems.
Problem solving mindset and ability to work independently and in teams.
Skills to be Gained
This competition provides an opportunity to develop skills in robotics software development for autonomous navigation, hardware design, manufacturing, computer vision, and machine learning. You will gain hands-on experience programming real robots and sensors, applying advanced image recognition techniques, and designing and manufacturing parts for the robot.
